Kismet Cases

Kismet Trading Co. offers a fabulous line of cases made from quality leather. There are three different styles of cases to meet your storage, carrying and protection needs.  A belt case with swivel loop, a zippered day planner style case with room for credit cards and cash, and a wallet style case to carry the Palm V, your credit cards and some cash.
Starting with the belt case, let's take them one at a time and see how they stack up.  With it's swivel clip, the belt case is great, and by far my favorite for day to day use.  It is well made and looks great with business attire or jeans.  There is room for my snugly held Palm IIIx without the flip lid, with no fear of it sliding out.  The Palm sticks out about 1/2 an inch on top so that you can grab hold of it and remove it from the case.  Unfortunately, the Palm won't fit in the case with the cover attached, so if you are one of those that actually likes the cover, you might not like this case.  If you are one of the many that has long since discarded that annoying lid, you will find this to be a perfect fit.

The belt clip that attaches to your belt or pants has a swivel on it.  This is a great feature that allows the case to accommodate a variety of positions that make it comfortable for walking AND driving.  The belt clip can sometimes be difficult to clip to your belt and can sometimes take two hands, but when it is finally in place, it is very solid and not likely to slip off.  I do wonder about the clip breaking as I have had belt clip style holsters bread in the past (none related to Palm cases however) and I wonder if the swivel will hold up.  I don't have any reason to think otherwise, these are just the thoughts that come to mind.  All in all, this case is completely functional, compliment's a man's attire great, and offers good abrasion and bump resistance for your Palm.  This may not be the appropriate case for a woman, however Kismet has several others equally impressive choices.

In the event that you long for the days of carrying your day planner around, Kismet has something that is very reminiscent of just such a carrying case.  Again, the quality and construction of the Palm zip case is beautiful, with rich leather and functional design.

The Palm is attached with velcro (my one and only gripe)

and there is room for an extra stylus, some business cards and/or credit cards and even a pocket to stuff some cash and papers into.

Finally, an elegant case, for what is undoubtedly the most elegant of all PDA's.  This case not only makes a good carrying case for the Palm V, it does double duty as a highly functional wallet.  On the left flap, there is room for credit cards and even a drivers license (with window)!  A wallet style pocket on top holds all those bills that you saved by buying your Palm V online.  A leather tab keeps the whole thing closed and it just looks great!

The Palm V case folds up compactly and closes snugly with the leather tab, and is really not much bigger than a regular wallet.  As long as you don't sit on it, you can probably get away with carrying this case instead of your normal wallet.

Go to Kismet Trading to order any one of these case, as well as several others that are new to the already impressive line.  The Palm III series belt case is $24.95, the Palm zip case is $29.95 and the Palm V money wallet case is $24.95.  They are available in either dark cognac or soft black(except for the belt clip, which substitutes camel for dark cognac).

As an added note, I've been using the belt case for about two months now and find it to be my personal favorite, not just of the Kismet cases, but all the cases I have reviewed.  As much as I don't care for velcro, it's working fine and holding up to the rigors of daily use.  I give one of my highest reccomendations to Kismet Trading for having such quality cases at an affordable price!
