Draw on your Palm
SimpleSketch by Synergy Solutions is exactly what it says, a simple sketching program. It allows you to draw simple pictures on your Palm and offers a limited number of tools and options. This may sound like a limitation at first, but it is actually a huge benefit.
For Windows users, the SimpleSketch conduit will convert SimpleSketch drawings to Bitmap (.BMP) files on your desktop PC. It sync's automatically during a hotsync however you can turn the conduit on and off as needed to speed up sync time.
SimpleSketch is available at Synergy Solutions for $14.95. If you don't need the conduit or the color features, you can get SimpleSketch 1.0 at PalmGear. At the time of this writing, v2.0 was not available at PalmGear, but I would expect that it would be there shortly.

SimpleSketch allows you to draw simple freehand drawings, quickly jot down phone numbers and addresses, or take quick notes. After you name your drawing, you can beam it to other Palm users! At the left, you can see the tool selection available in Simple Sketch. You can choose between an eraser, a brush, a line tool, shape tools and a text tool. Each tool has options that are available such as line thickness or outline vs. fill. With these simple tools, most tasks can be easily accomplished. |
| The drop down list to the right shows the different sized brushes that are available with the freehand drawing tool. You can also see some of the different shapes, both outlined and filled that are available. When finished, simply save your drawing and give it a name! One thing to remember, although I only have a Palm IIIx, Simple Sketch v2.0 supports full color! So go ahead and draw to your hearts content while you are on the train to work or sitting in the dentist's office! You can always export it to your desktop if you like it! |
